Warner says that an Europay MasterCard Visa (EMV)

project management and more.

Testing applications

Comprehensive Active Directory Solutions

As part of the comprehensive service offered for Active Directory (AD), Computek has a number of products and solutions for companies with complex AD environments. Computek also hosts the Active Directory Strategy Groups in South Africa, in conjunction with Microsoft in order to open communication channels amongst AD experts and
to keep abreast of AD developments.

Centrify
Centrify, a new product initiative, which provides all encompassing Active Directory-based solutions for cross platform auditing, access control and authentication, can now be implemented to enhance network services, management and security. Computek is the sole supplier of Centrify in Africa and offers customer support on a national basis. Centrify’s auditing, access control and identity management solutions enable a secure, connected computing environment by centrally securing heterogeneous systems, web applications, databases and storage systems using Microsoft Active Directory.

A number of Fortune 500 companies has already implemented Centrify as an Active Directory solution. Broad Partnership with Microsoft
Centrify, a versatile solutions product, holds a broad partnership with Microsoft, and this includes aspects such as:

• Active Directory interoperability partner; Microsoft as    Centrify customer – DirectControl is used internally in    Microsoft’s Linux interoperability lab;
• First and only solution of its type to be Windows 2003    certified;
• First solution to extend ADFS to non-Microsoft
   web servers; and
• Windows 2003 R2 Launch Partner.

Computek’s Executive Management team has recently been restructured. The team consists of:

                          Harry Chakhala
 Harry Chakhala is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of HR Computek (Pty) Ltd, a 100%
 empowered ICT company, found in 1999. The company currently employs 120 people. He is
 responsible for overall company strategy, performance and growth in South Africa and into  Africa with involvement in ICT strategic consultancy. He has more than 20 years experience  covering airline, engineering and IT industries with focus on leadership, strategy, contract  management, performance management, CRM, project finance, sales and marketing,  software development, ICT architecture, applications, infrastructure and service delivery. He is  an electrical engineering graduate with Wits MBA, ACCA-CDipAF, Postgraduate Diplomas
 in Accounting, Finance and General Management. He is a Chartered Marketer (CM-SA),  Professional Member of the MFSA, Certified SAP/ASAP Consultant and an ICT Strategic Advisor  to Government and public sector. Harry enjoys soccer and spending time with his family when  he has a chance.
                          Ken Msuku
 Ken Msuku, Executive: Business Operations was the first employee and joined Computek in  its early days as a systems engineer. He holds a number of qualifications including a Bachelor  of Commerce degree specializing in Informatics. He oversees service delivery, contract  management, tendering, staff deployment, consultants’ management and overall business  operations including corporate services. He is passionate about sport, particularly soccer and  is currently the co-captain of the Computek Action Soccer team.
                          Ken Msuku
 Johannes Makgobane, Senior Executive: Public Sector Strategy, has recently joined Computek,
 and is responsible for public sector marketing and business development. He has gained  extensive experience in the IT industry over the past fifteen years, and has specialised in public  sector IT for most of this period. Before, joining Computek, Johannes was Account Manager  and later Portfolio Manager for SITA, the Government’s IT component. He has obtained an MBA  from the University of Natal and holds other qualifications in Commerce and IT from the  University of Witwatersrand. Johannes enjoys a good round of golf and plays soccer for                                         relaxation.
                          Gareth Warner
 Gareth Warner was recently appointed as Executive: Business Solutions. He has sound  knowledge and experience in various strategic and technical areas including: strategic  formulation, business process development, solution package selection and implementation,  business system design, interface and implementation, technology strategy formulation and  operations management. Gareth is one of the leading experts in the country regarding smart  cards and biometrics; and sits on several ISO committees. During the past few years, he has  been extensively involved in planning, scoping and enabling the Automated Fingerprint  Identification System, eGovernment solutions, national electronic payment solution and the  establishment of local biometric standards within Government, together with the move to an  electronic passport system and movement control system within the country. Gareth holds an  MBA together with several qualifications in Engineering, IT and Management. Gareth is an avid  cyclist, and has done thousands of kilometres on the road. He also enjoys a bit of gym and  running and is currently a member of Computek’s Action Soccer team.

Support for young talent
Computek has, over the past eight years, sponsored and supported a number of IT students. They aim to attract and retain talented young people in the IT industry, by offering financial support for academic qualifications. Basani Mabunda is currently studying towards and IT degree at Nelson Mandela University and Ntsoko Phihela has recently completed her studies and is deployed on a project at Computek.

Action Soccer team
runs rings around
opponents
A bunch of Computek employees, based at its Head Office, recently formed its own Action Soccer team. The team, sponsored and supported by Harry Chakhala (CEO) consists of a number of enthusiastic and strong individuals, who joined the Action Soccer League as a team to strengthen relationships, keep fit and to show their mettle. Ken Msuku and Nicholus Setshedi captain the team. The Action Soccer team is currently on position five on the log and has played seven games of which they won three, lost three and drew one. “Our ultimate dream is to win the league or to finish at least within the top four on the log”, says Ken Msuku, co-captain.
  FAST FACTS: ACTION SOCCER
• A team consists of four players, including the
  goalkeeper with no more than two substitutes.
• The game is played in two halves of 15 minutes each     with a break at half time.
• Kick-off is decided by a toss.
• With kick-offs, the ball will be played backwards.
• A goal is scored when the ball has passed over
  the goal line.
• The team reaching the highest number of goals
  is the winner.
